NOVEMBER 29 2008:
As has already been reported on several blogs and list serves, Herman did collapse during a recent visit. Unfortunately he is back in the Dungeon at Camp C which
complicates his health. Both Maria and I were visiting Herman when he suddenly began to sweat. He then asked for a glass of water from one of the orderlies and needed
to sit down. He continued to talk, mostly about how much he was sweating for a minute until he collapsed in his chair. Maria and I were locked in the visiting cell which kept
us from being able to reach Herman or guards. We banged on both the door to the guards and the metal screen separating us and Herman. After several minutes of demanding
the guards 'call a medic' they opened the outside door but were in no hurry to call for help on their radios. Maria and I continued to try and talk to Herman who was floating in &
out of consciousness and occasionally spitting up, or convulsing to spit up. When the guards finally opened Herman's side of the visiting cell they refused to take off his black box
[an additional security measure which locks your wrists] and stood in the door frame attempting to talk to him, and joking about the making the wrong radio call. Once both doors
were open Herman began to slowly respond to the calls of the guards and said he "felt better". The guards removed us before they would allow the ambulance in to treat him.
Angola is suggesting that Herman had a mere heat stroke, although I had two sweaters on during the visit and was still chilly. Louisiana was cold that day- and the heat was definitely
not on in the visiting shed. So far as I could surmise Herman Wallace had a stroke, which is a huge warning flag of health issues to come. He is currently back in his cell in the dungeon
and saying he feels well- more embarressed than injured. Hopefully we will be able to get our own Dr's in to give him a decent exam, as Angola is not one to trust, especially with the civil
suit nipping at the heals of their bank accounts.
Please continue to write Herman and Albert with letters of support.
note: On March 20, 2009, Herman was transferred to another prison near Baton Rouge.

Me & Herman November 2008 [Camp D Eagle1]

As many of you know the State of Louisiana is continuing to impede justice and manipulate laws in a shallow attempt to contest the FEDERAL JUDGES DECISION
to overturn Albert Woodfox's conviction. It is an unforntunate witchhunt led by the LA Attorney Generals office [Buddy Caldwell] at the expense of the tax-payers pocket.
A press conference was recently held at the Prospect 1. installation of the The House That Herman Built in order to call attention to State's implementation of pre-civil rights
act intimidation tactics. Here are some photos from the press conference at the CAC in New Orleans in attendence were:

Part of the pressure came as mainstream news coverage (finally)increased through strong commitments made to Anita Roddick's legacy. We are
with out words for the appropriate gratitude.
The MSNBC piece can be seen here, and John Conyers visit was covered by hundreds of papers and,
television stations. The AP article can be linked to here.
Yes, it is significant- but it is just the beginning, being moved from a small cell into a larger cell is no victory.
THIS FIGHT DOES NOT STOP UNTIL HERMAN AND ALBERT ARE FREE.
Let's use the momentum from the recent developments to reinforce what we have been fighting for this whole time, thier ultimate freedom;
-THE FREEDOM FROM ANGOLA.
please do not hesitate to email me with any questions regarding the current situation, and stay tuned!
